We exist to ensure ancient crafts don't disappear in modern noise.
House of Dhrti was born from a simple, urgent belief: the hands that have held India's ancient craft traditions for centuries deserve to be seen, valued, and sustained. This is not a shop — it is a bridge between artisan communities in Eastern India and everyone who believes that what we own should carry meaning.
Our name, Dhrti, draws from the Sanskrit idea of steadfastness and patience — the same qualities that live in every terracotta bead, every dokra casting, and every madurkathi weave. We don't sell products; we steward stories.
Why We Started
Amrita's journey began in the villages of Eastern India, where she met artisans who could create extraordinary work but had no fair market for it. Families were leaving craft for daily wage labour. Skills that had passed down for generations were one generation away from silence. She started House of Dhrti to create a channel where craft could thrive without losing its soul — and where buyers could become part of that story.
Our Cultural Mission
We work only with communities we know and visit. Every piece is traceable to the hands that made it. We focus on terracotta jewellery, dokra metal craft, and madurkathi weaving from Eastern India — not as trends, but as living heritage that deserves dignity and continuity.
Ethical Sourcing & Values
We pay fairly, we don't rush orders, and we never ask artisans to compromise their techniques for speed. Our role is to connect, not to dictate. When you choose House of Dhrti, you are choosing a supply chain built on respect and long-term relationships.
Vision for the Future
We dream of a world where ancient craft is not a footnote in history books but a visible, valued part of everyday life. More collaborations, more stories, more young artisans choosing to stay — and more people choosing to live with intention. That future starts with every piece we share and every story we tell.

House of Dhrti (Craft Curator)
Craft Curator of a heritage craft brand rooted in thoughtful living and contemporary relevance, Amrita curates handcrafted jewellery and lifestyle products from traditional Indian artisans — bringing together cultural memory, material authenticity, and refined design. She believes craft carries livelihood, skill, and continuity, and focuses on responsible sourcing and long-term artisan relationships.
With over a decade in legal academia (teaching and curriculum development at institutions in Mumbai), she brings structure, research, and long-term thinking to entrepreneurship — building a brand that values integrity as much as growth. She is interested in heritage-led enterprise, ethical and slow-made brands, and women-led entrepreneurship.
